Season Highlights
Our Robot "MJSJ"

Drivetrain

Custom 6 Wheel Drop Center – This westcoast drive design was chosen for its maneuverability and smooth turning.

Intake

5 spinning shafts connected with chain. Latex tubing arms to grab the rings and carry them through the bot and into our can system An arm spinning in the opposite direction pops the rings up onto our ramp.

Lift/Can/Yeeter

The can is attached to a lead screw linear actuator which takes the rings from the intake up to the shooter. Our yeeter is a servo powered arm, attached to the CAN, that yeets the rings into the shooter.

Shooter

A 6in fly wheel and 90 degree curve maximizes the amount of time the ring stays in contact with the wheel which allows it to hold more energy and retain speed. Our shooter is mounted at the top level of our robot at a calculated angle giving us a desired arc where the rings enter goal at the peak of flight.

Wobble Moover

Our wobble mover mechanism is an xrail arm that rotates to grab and lift the wobble goal. We utlilized 3D printed brackets and a servo for grabbing the wobble goal stick.

Outreach
COMMUNITY EVENTS
  • 12/19/20 Barnes and Noble
  • 8/21/20 Mandeville High Robotics Team's Summer Camp Robot Demo
STEM@HOME

Summer 2020 • STEM@HOME
Due to Covid our team was not able to stem outreach. We decided to create videos with hands-on STEM activities kids could do at home! Our team recorded and shared fun video activities, shared links to stem activities and learning on our social media, and shared any other STEM related resources that the whole family could enjoy at home. View our videos on youtube: https://youtu.be/hGq-L3bZTQs

COMMUNITY SERVICE
  • 4/2020 - Ear Savers for Life Savers
Members of our team 3D printed ear savers for healthcare workers. We distributed over 300 ear savers to doctors, nurses, EMS Workers, and other healthcare workers locally and even mailed some as far as Texas to those in need.
  • 9/26/20 • Keep Mandeville Beautiful Citywide Cleanup
